FUTURE ORIENTED

In our role as an investor, developer and manager of logistics real estate, we are committed to making decisions today with tomorrow in mind, for the benefit of people and planet.

WITH THREE CORE THEMES

Our approach is driven by three themes. These capture the sustainability considerations which are most material to our business, and which offer us the greatest opportunity to have a positive impact.

Carbon, Energy & Resources

We aim to reduce our carbon emissions and use energy and natural resources equitably and efficiently.

Goal: Encourage use of renewable energy on site through rooftop solar.

Progress to date: 165,000 sqm of roof area committed to solar panel installation.

Goal: Improve quality and breadth of consumption data through installation of Building Management Systems (BMS).

Progress to date: BMS installed at 55% of sites.

Goal: Assess carbon pathway for each asset to understand its performance and opportunity for improvement.

Progress to date: Carbon pathway assessments were carried out for 74% of assets.

AN INTEGRATED APPROACH

Sustainability considerations are integrated throughout our investment approach. We are dedicated to creating and preserving value for all stakeholders, including where sustainability factors present significant risks and opportunities.

Disposition

As an asset transitions away from our management, we work to facilitate buyers’ ongoing sustainability efforts by providing relevant data and encouraging continuation of our current initiatives.

Acquisitions

Our due diligence includes analysis of climate-related and environmental risks, alongside broader sustainability considerations. These risks, alongside opportunities for value creation through sustainable practices, are presented to the investment committee for consideration.

Asset Management

Standing assets are routinely monitored to identify further opportunities to promote sustainability. This includes using operational data to optimise resource use on site, working closely with tenants and promoting their employees’ wellbeing, and protecting long-term value by monitoring ongoing environmental factors. Sustainability considerations are included in ongoing investor reporting as standard.

Development

We recognise our responsibility as developers to consider the long-term impact of development decisions on the environment and our stakeholders. All new developments adhere to the Sunrise Design Guide, which prioritises sustainability in terms of whole life carbon, socially responsible construction, and sustainable design.

UNDERPINNED BY GOVERNANCE

Our Sustainability Committee includes team members from every business function, including three of our founding partners, and external sustainability advisors who offer guidance and accountability. More broadly, the Committee engages regularly with our Board and Risk Committee and adheres to our internal governance policies. Further details can be found in our Sustainability Policy.

WITH MEASURABLE IMPACT

Our asset-level goals are tailored to specific needs and opportunities presented by each asset, supported by input from local partners. Progress is tracked regularly by the Committee, who meet monthly internally to discuss ongoing initiatives.
